Congratulations to the Early College High School’s own Coltrin Felt for winning a seat in the All-Nationals Honor Choir that performed at the National Conference of Music Educators (NAfME) November 6-10, 2019.  Coltrin was one of only two High School students from New Mexico to receive the honor after submitting his video audition back in April. He joined 240 of the top selected singers from around the nation to rehearse in Orlando, FL with the award-winning conductor, Tesfa Wondemagegnehu of St. Olaf College. The performance of this incredible ensemble brought the audience to their feet in a public concert November 9th, and left a resounding impact on those of all ages in attendance!

In addition to this exciting All-National distinction, the Early College High School Choir is proud to announce that three of its singers will be honored for their THIRD consecutive year as members of the New Mexico All-State Choir in January!  In a rigorous audition process last month, they were selected from a few thousand auditioners across New Mexico to participate in the rehearsals and performance of the All-State Treble and Mixed Choirs at the State Conference of Music Educators (NMMEA) in Albuquerque, January 8-11, 2020.

Congratulations, Hannah Beason (Junior), Coltrin Felt (Senior) and Lee Dickerson (Junior)!

ECHS Choir Senior, Kaylee Hays, has also earned a special recognition following the selection of her winning audition for the Carnegie Hall Honor Choir earlier this Fall! Kaylee will have the unique privilege of performing in New York City’s finest venue with a Choir of international winners of the competition. Kaylee will prepare the music her guest conductor has selected and join this elite group in the Big Apple the first week of February 2020.

Way to go, Kaylee!
